HÔTEL LITTÉRAIRE LE SWANN (PARIS, 8E) horaire/heure : 7 PM

On the occasion of the reissue of "Roman du Malade" by Louis de Robert, we welcome his publisher, Olivier Philipponnat, to discuss this text with a singular destiny.

Published in 1911 and awarded the same year by the Femina Prize, this novel deeply marked Marcel Proust: it was its author whom he asked for advice before the publication of "Du côté de chez Swann," and it was Louis de Robert, the first to read the proofs, who convinced him not to cut the lengths.

The book follows a young writer caught by illness, sent to heal in Switzerland before living, on the Basque coast, a last love. A novel born from the author's personal experience, where we find, before its time, something of the sensitivity of Proust's narrator.

Thursday, September 17 at 7pm at the Hôtel Littéraire Le Swann (11 rue de Constantinople, Paris 8th).

An event co-organized with Les Amis de Proust.
